<a href="">Priscilla Pepin</a>

I had preeclampsia too. My blood pressure would go down after laying on my left side for 10-15 minutes. But then over night it went up to 158/123 and they had to induce labor and put me on magnesium. It ******. That stuff makes you have the worse headache and they have to put a catheter in to measure urine output. But on the bright side. I had to do bed rest for 6 weeks before I was finally induced and my baby was healthy and 8 pounds. Do what the doctor says.. But really watch for the swelling. Good luck

First of all don't worry, don't do anything that will bring your blood pressure up. I have it I am 29w pregnant and ever since I was 13w my blood pressure has been 145/95, BUT it is only every time I go to the doctor, I get really stressed out and your blood pressure can pomp that high just because of excitment or preocupation.

My doctor told me that I have to check my blood pressure every day and keep a chart, so I started to do that right after 13w of pregnancy. My blood pressure at home is perfect! usually 123/80 something, it never goes above 130/85. Keeping that chart has showed the doctors that my blood pressure is normal, I just get nervous everytime I go to the hospital and with the driving and everything my blood pressure goes up. I have done a 24hr urine test every month and every time I have an appointment I have to drop a urine sample, they have come out fine too, ever since I turned 19w I have had an apointment every week to monitore the baby and make sure he is growing fine and the placenta is fine. Thank God everything has gone well so far. The doctor has prescribed me medication but he told me to not take it unless my blood pressure goes above 140/90 at home. I never had any high blood pressure symptoms either, the symptoms are silent symptoms which makes it really hard to detect that you have it. It would be good if you got a blood pressure monitor and take your blood pressure at home twice a day, if you see that your blood pressure is normal I wouldn't worry about it at all. Do not use the machines in walmart and stores like that because they can always be 20 pounds off and they wont give you accurate results. Use one at home.
High blood pressure is not good for you or the baby, what happens is that the placenta stresses out with so much pressure and can separate from the amniotic sac, if that happens your baby can't feed and you have to be induced, the ONLY way to get rid of it is delivering the baby and you dont want your baby to be born early. If this happens you can even go into a comma, if you do, that is what's called preeclampsia, and it can take a while before they can control your blood pressure.
But most of the time everybody is ok and if you keep a close eye in your blood pressure you should be just fine. But if you take your blood pressure over the weekend and it is always above 140/90, please do not hesitate and go to the emergency room or if you are 20w pregnant or more, go to labor and delivery.

Good luck and don't worry, you should be fine.

<a href="">Ralph Yan</a>

yes had my baby 10 weeks ago after being induced as a result of pre eclampsia. How pregnant are you? If you are late pregnancy and symptoms do not subside they may induce your labour. They will be looking for 3 signs, not just the raise bp. The raised bp is the first sign and they can treat that with bp medication, your urine will be checked for protein and they will check for odema or swelling. I was only induced because i had 4 pluses of protein, higher bp than yours (140 0ver 102 ) and ankles the size of tree trunks. They will monitor the baby as well. Do not worry if you are admitted to hospital, i was in for 2 weeks before i was induced and it forces you to rest and take care of yourself. Every time i went for a check up before i was admitted my bp seemed to stabilise for a while and then go up, thats why they will check 4 hourly it can flucuate a lot. Good luck and dont be scared.Oh, I was 38 weeks at that point, hospitalised at 36
