Celery is excellent for lowering blood pressure. Fresh Garlic (chop it up and swallow it like small tablets) is also good. If your Mom can drink a glass of Pomegranate Juice or eat the fresh fruit every day, her B.P. will gradually come down. Salt is a villain. The bad guy is processed foods, as food processors replace tastiness with saltiness. Eating meat is no problem, but lean meat is best.

I have high blood pressure. I can still pretty much eat what I want, but I have to watch my sodium intake. I try not to go over 1750 mg a day. I also cook with spices and herbs more than with seasoning salts because they are loaded with MSGs. There are now more seasonings that are MSG free. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and try to avoid processed meats (loaded w/ sodium) and processed meals.
