There are alot of things that can cause HP if you think you have it you should see your Dr. but yes sleep plays and impact on HP and so does stress it’s the big one but if someithng is affecting your heart you need to see you Dr. not Yahoo Awnsers
Smoking, caffeine, not sleeping enough, tension (eg. if you have an exam, an important commitment), stress, obesity (but this is not temporary). There are some condition to the kidney that make blood pression high, but they are dangerous and should be treated immediately.
There are a number of things that can cause hypertension and high blood pressure: stress, lot of salt in your diet, working under pressure and it can be hereditary.
There are a number of contributing factors to high blood pressure, but the most important can be summarised in two: lack of exercise and obesity. Having a diet high in sodium (salt) is another factor that can increse your BP considerably.
If you think you have high BP I suggest you consider the DASH diet (Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension). It seems that this is the most effective diet to reduce BP considerably.
Some other contributing factors to high BP are caffeine, lack of sleep, streess, alcohol and even excess of noise.
