Time them. That’s the only way to know for sure. Contractions are pretty consistent. It’s possible that they are braxton hicks contractions but I don’t really know anything about blood pressure causing those kind of pains.

Always call your doctor, especially if you have pregnancy related hypertension, because if you ignore it, you could lose your baby and or yourself. Sorry to be blunt. On the other end of things, you may be experiencing braxton hicks contractions and/or your baby positioning him/herself towards the birth canal and is hitting a nerve.

id go to the hospital and ask them, they are the only ones who can put your mind at rest.

better to be safe than sorry.

why don’t you call your doctor and let him know what you’re experiencing? It’s just to be on the safe side, not that I’m saying that you may be in any danger, but call him up and let him know, maybe he’ll have a solution to your problem. I hope I helped! Good Luck!!! Congrats!!!! =+)

I had the same thing for 2 months prior to having my babies. your body can “prepare” itself at the expense of your comfort with little pains and cramps everywhere and it’s really nothing to be worried about.

What I would do to calm myself is time them, they usually taper off and, because I was paying attention, I could be sure everything was okay.

Take lots of baths and get some skullcap tea for the blood pressure (some “bedtime” teas have skullcap). It’s completely safe and very calming. It did wonders for my high blood pressure during my first pregnancy and helped me keep it completely at bay during my second one.

You might take comfort in knowing that, on average, the longer your body “prepares” the shorter your labor will be. Of course, everyone’s different but, that is something to take comfort in.

Women have been doing this for thousands of years. Don’t worry so much, just time it, drink some tea, and let your body do what it knows to do.
