My layman&#039;s understanding is that it does take a couple of weeks for just about any lifestyle change to make much of a difference.  But I suspect that you *will* see some difference in just a few days (trouble is, there are all the other things that make a difference that you might not be able to control.)

If you don&#039;t have your own BP cuff, I recommend getting one.  It&#039;s just so much nicer to have your own feedback, rather than having to troop to the doctor&#039;s office to check.  (Your pharmacist should be able to recommend one for around $50.)  Just make sure you take it with your feet flat on the floor, sitting in a chair for a few minutes to rest.  If you take it first thing in the morning, that will probably have the least variability from day to day.

Lay off the sodium (if you don&#039;t already), eath some fresh fruit (oranges and bananas) to make sure your potassium levels are high, get out there walking, and you will be able to see the results for yourself.

Again, I&#039;m sorry that I don&#039;t have any hard and fast numbers on how quickly you can get your BP down.  I&#039;m really hoping that someone else answers your question with some good statistics on the matter.
