Terry Roybal

I don't know what some of these people are talking about because your blood pressure is high for your age. You need to see a doctor because this could be due to a heart condition or some other serious cause. It bothers me because you do not have a family history of hypertension. That means it could be something specific in you that's causing it.
The good news is there's no reason to stop your running, unless you have unexplained breathing difficulties or chest pains. If that's not the case it should even help keep your blood pressure down.

Ralph Dilworth

While low BP isn't as dangerous as high BP ... it is not good to have either.
Your BP is normal ... maybe stay away from the junk food when you are running. Junk food usually contains a lot of salt which can raise your BP.
Drink plenty of water, that will keep things moving along nicely and you won't get dehydrated from running.

Louise Contreras

I believe you just keep your exercises and sweat a lot. Watch yourself while doing your exercises all the time, if it's hard to breath, stop what ever your doing and think of how you could get to the doctor quickly. Take baby aspirin with you all the time, (baby aspirin is known for thinning blood which will help a little on blood clot - you better ask a doctor about this.) Watch what food you eat. Do away from meat of anykind. Eat a lot of fiber food and green leafy vegetables. Yes, there are teenagers who have high blood pressure and high cholesterol and even have bypass surgery. Sometimes this is not because of what was eaten but it has to do genetically. Maybe trace both sides of family, if there is family members who had died of heart attack and what age and what they did when they are alive. I've seen 9 years old had a bypass surgery and I've heard some athlete that's very healthy that died of heart attack. I've seen in my town, a 11 year old girld soccer player just collapse in the soccer field and died there - heart attack. Although, we don't know why it is like that, we can just do the best we can in this life. Enjoy it! Do away from any source of anger, worries, and things that could upset you. Don't watch scary movies and laugh a lot or be a happy person all the time. Just do good things for other people and for ourselves and always pray to God for a little bit more life. Always thank "Him" for yesterday, for today and for tomorrow for we may not know if there'll be some more of those. Don't worry too much. Smile a lot to decrease tension. Just don't smile to no one because they might think you are a psycho...
Think about happy moments where it could make you feel better and happy. Hope this help...don't worry too much, ok?

Brandy Messenger

It doesn't sound horrible to me (I'm not a nurse or doctor, but I have high blood pressure, on meds for the last 10 years). The lower number is the one they get concerned with, if it is above 90, Yours isn't above 90. But the upper number being higher than normal (170) would be some cause for concern. But ask your doctor if you should be concerned about the high BP. Try cutting out some salt & caffiene in your diet. Those can raise BP. Also soda, it tends to make you retain water and thus have a higher BP.
