If light-headed, and BP is very low, cut back a little.

I take either 1/2 or 3/4 of my tablets to avoid that. My cardiologist approved this.

My hubby gets lightheaded from his Blood pressure medicine and has even fallen over. He has just learned to get up very slowly which is difficult for him cuz he’s a ball of energy.
This is a very common occurrence with blood pressure medicine. Hang in there. Your body will eventually adjust to them.

Hi. I don’t know how long you have been on your blood pressure medicine, but if you just started on it recently many blood pressure medications make you feel lightheaded in the beginning. I know this is a strange sensation because the same thing happened to me when I started taking Diovan. It really concerned me in the beginning. After 2 weeks, the lightheadedness went away. My doctor kept telling me it would and it did. That is my personal story. If you have been on a BP med for a while now and still experiencing lightheadedness, I would continue to talk with the doc about it. I know what you are saying though, sometimes it is all about the money and they want you to come back, over and over and over again. If you have been on this BP medication for a while now, demand they try something else or find out what is causing this lightheadedness.

Unfortunately most doctors these days are in the pockets of the pharmaceutical company’s. They don’t treat the disease they just treat the symptoms. They proscribe pills that mask your real problems and the side effects of the pills cause more problems. With the weight you are carrying the BP meds do sound like a good thing. Does he have you on just one med? My doc had me on three diff. meds. Lopressor and a diuretic and a anti cholesterol and it seemed to do the trick. Get serious about lousing the weight! The pressure on the rest of your body, from heart to knees will kill you quick. You are carrying a hundred pound bag around with you 24/7 They don’t even make you do that in a warehouse job! Good luck with it!

I’d suggest to call your pharmacist and ask him all the interactions/side effects of this medication, your doctor may have to adjust your medicine, are you taking anything else besides dieting? It could be because of both changes your body is undergoing as well, take good care.
