High fat food does indeed increase blood pressure. I would advise that you stick to a low fat diet and splurge every once and a while.

Yes, it can effect your BP. But so can stress and family history.

An increase in fat will have the nasty habit overtime in causing the arteries in your circulatory system to narrow which will increase blood pressure since it take more pressure to pump the blood out. Also in added fat that is stored around vital organs especially the kidneys will increase pressure since the kidney are one of the important organs for the regulation of blood pressure. Some fat is good as energy stores and also for cushinging internal organs, but overtime any extra build up of fat can lead to serious disorders like hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease. Hope this helps answer your question.

I would certaintly watch it. Consume only fats and oils. Olive oil is a great way to start. It can be cooked in and also dress your salad. That is a good fat. Stay away from the hydrogenated fats, solid fats and ,

and what exactly is high fat food?

Most of the dieticians and doctors in the world have bought into the ban the fats attitude.

Fats slow down absorbtion of foods, feed the brain, and give a feeling of satiety faster than non fatty foods.

Everyone must eat a diet sufficient in proteins, fats and carbohydrates.
