Some people have hypertension that is very difficult to treat.
Cardiologists (and internists, family practice guys) usually start with something mild, and switch or add drugs until your BP is controlled.
Some people have to take 4 or 5 meds to control it. It might take months.
mine is so high, my doctor says I should be dead, but it won’t go down, no matter what pills I take. But then, my liver is really messed up. I’m hoping one of my sibs needs a liver transplant, so I can donate part of mine and my bp will go down.
by the way, quitting my stressful job, and getting a tank full of fish has lowered it a bit. try that.

Sometimes it takes trial and error for medication to affect uncontrollable blood pressure.
I’ve had the disorder for over 10 years and my doctor and I are still exploring solutions.
I find that I can control it with my mind. I have to stay calm with all muscles relaxed and take deep slow breaths – something like meditation.
Try that, it may work for you.
